Award Process

Call for Proposals and Award Process

The Partnership Fund receives project proposals and awards grants in two ways i.e. (1) through a call for small-scale proposals (projects equal to or less than Rs. 1 million) and large-scale proposals (projects equal to or less than Rs. 3 million); and (2) through WWF-Pakistan’s Scientific Committee on a rolling basis. Under the second method, the Partnership Fund only awards small-scale projects that equal or are less than Rs. 1 million.

Round 1

In 2008, the Partnership Fund hosted its first round of funding. In this first call, the Partnership Fund awarded grants to 13 projects. 10 of these projects were approved by the Partnership Fund’s Technical Committee held on August 12, 2008. The remaining three projects, which were less than 1 million rupees, were approved by WWF-Pakistan’s Scientific Committee, which met on September 18, 2008.

Round 2

In the second round of funding, the Partnership Fund’s Technical Committee granted awards to 7 projects. Each of these projects was above 1 million rupees. This was the first time when a project from the Forests and Wildlife Department, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (formerly NWFP) was awarded a grant.

Round 3

In the third round of funding, the Partnership Fund’s Technical Committee approved four projects. During 2010, the Partnership Fund Technical Committee took the extraordinary measure of approving an emergency relief and rehabilitation project in Keti Bunder. Details of currently ongoing projects awarded by the Partnership Fund Technical Committee may be found in the table below.

Round 4

In the fourth round of funding, the Partnership Fund’s Technical Committee approved one project. During 2011, the Partnership Fund Technical Committee approving an Muree Forest Division Project to protect highly encroached forest through GIS based boundary delineation.
