In a study carried out by The Peregrine Fund and Ornithological Society of Pakistan between 2000-2003, Pakistan showed a 50% annual decrease in the White-backed vulture (Gyps bengalensis). more

Breeding Programme



The Gyps Vulture Restoration Facility is the only ex-situ project in Pakistan dedicated to fighting the threats faced by the White-backed vulture. more

Protected Area for Vultures



The biggest success of any species conservation work is ensuring a sustainable population in the wild. The year 2012 will see the establishment of a Vulture Safe Zone in the Nagar Parkar area of Sindh. more

Research



The 2010 – 2011 breeding season only observed 12 active White-backed vulture nests; this is down from 200 active nests recorded in 2007. more
